No, the Family App is designed specifically for parents and caregivers, not for children or adolescents to track their own meals or behaviors.

This reflects the important role caregivers often play in eating disorder treatment, particularly during the early and more intensive phases of recovery, when caregivers may take the lead in monitoring nutrition and supporting recovery at home.

As recovery progresses, there may be a time when you and your treatment team decide your child is ready to take on more responsibility for tracking their own meals, behaviors, or reflections. At that point, your child can download and use the original Recovery Record app rather than the Family App. The two apps can also be used at the same time, with you continuing to use the Family App for caregiver monitoring, support, and connection with the treatment team while your child uses Recovery Record as appropriate for their stage of recovery.
